Art changes lives. Youth need art. We work with a faculty of artists to spark a shared creative practice between professional artists and public high school students, furthering youth as leaders, thinkers, and artists in San Francisco as they explore the arts and themselves.

This City Life: Record your story at [x]space

Our Music Production faculty artist Alfie Macias is hosting a project called This City Life at [x]space. Alfie and youth music producers will record community members sharing their stories about living in San Francisco. Come with friends and family during to have your story recorded! This project is supported by California Arts Council's Artists in Communities program. If you are interested in setting up an appointment to have your story recorded, email info@youthartexchange.org with the subject line “This City Life.”


Do you want to support free arts programming for public high school youth in San Francisco? Come to our monthly volunteer orientation at [x]space on the first Tuesday of every month from 6-7pm. The next volunteer orientation is June 4. Come to meet staff, learn about programming, and how you can get involved to help our space and our programs. Bring a friend, meet new people, and eat popcorn! All ages welcome.
