Art changes lives. Youth need art. We work with a faculty of artists to spark a shared creative practice between professional artists and public high school students, furthering youth as leaders, thinkers, and artists in San Francisco as they explore the arts and themselves.

We are so excited to partner with artist KB, who moved into the ArtSpan artist studio at [x]space arts hub this spring for a Paint and Sip event on Tuesday, June 25 from 6-8pm. Tickets are $25 and include all art materials and refreshments. Bring a friend, make some art, and support our free arts programs for youth!

Celebrating LGBTQ Pride with Be Seen: Bay Area LGBTQ Youth Art Show

YAX is celebrating LGBTQ Pride with Be Seen: Bay Area LGBTQ Youth Art Show at [x]space arts hub in June. Be Seen is a space for LGBTQ-identifying youth under 25 years old to show their artwork and be seen, appreciated, and celebrated. It is a space especially for LGBTQ youth whose experiences and identities are marginalized and underrepresented, such as youth of color, girls, first generation youth, low-income youth, and youth experiencing homelessness.

Celebrate and support Bay Area LGBTQ youth artists who will be showing and selling their artwork! 3 youth with exceptional work will receive $50 giftcards to Blick.

YAX is hiring a Photography faculty artist for our Fall 2019 after school program!

YAX is seeking an experienced faculty artist in Black and White Photography to become a part of our vibrant youth arts center in San Francisco. We are hiring a faculty member to start in our Fall 2019 Session, which runs from September 4 – December 11. Classes are tentatively scheduled to meet on Tuesdays 4-6pm and in the darkroom on Saturdays 3-7pm, with occasional events, meetings, and activities on weekends and evenings.

ArtMart: YAX’s yearly art auction fundraiser will be on October 10 from 6:30 to 9pm at [x]space arts hub! Buy your ticket on Eventbrite now.

Join YAX for our annual fundraising event at [x]space! We are so excited to share our space with food and drink, auction pieces from our youth, artists, and community of supporters. Please join us for an evening of art, community, and fun!

Do you want to support free arts programming for public high school youth in San Francisco? Come to our monthly volunteer orientation at [x]space on the first Tuesday of every month from 6-7pm. The next volunteer orientation is June 4. Come to meet staff, learn about programming, and how you can get involved to help our space and our programs. Bring a friend, meet new people, and eat popcorn! All ages welcome.
